Defining XML Mappings

You can define XML mappings from the Draft view. See the Verity K2 Parametric Developer Guide for information about the XML mappings.

1. Navigate to Details | XML Mappings. The Define XML Mappings wizard displays.



2. Select the location for the XML file.

Use an XML file on a server

Click Next.



3. Navigate to the file location if you using a file are on the local system. Select the XML file. Click Next.



4. Define the XML mapping by selecting the:

Unique ID—A string that identifies a document. This field tells the parametric index where to look to find the Unique ID within the XML record.

XML record—A string that specifies the XML element that defines the record.

VDK field—A string that specifies the name of the VDK field. Use _docid when you do not have an explicit field to which to map. If you use _docid, the unique ID must be numeric.

Click Next.



5. Review the mapping settings. Click Save and Close Window to complete the mapping.
