Defining Topics Using Training Documents

Selecting the Using Training Documents option on the Training tab enables you to search for and select documents to use to define your taxonomy categories and topics.

A basic workflow to train your category using this method involves the following steps:

1. Search for documents.

2. Add training documents.

3. Train the category using the documents.

4. Save changes.

Using this training method, you can perform the following actions to define a category:

Search for documents in attached collections (see Searching a Collection)


Mark documents as relevant or irrelevant for training


Train the category using documents assigned as relevant and irrelevant


Remove documents from the training list


Create a subtaxonomy based on a collection, search results, selected documents in the results, or uncategorized documents
