Configuring the Heap Size

On the host machine running the verity_bconsole.war file, edit the -Xmx option to configure a maximum heap size. This value affects the memory for running Business Console.

For Windows, the default -Xmx setting is 1 GB. To edit this value, use the following procedure:

a. In a command-line window, navigate to the <installDir>/AppServer/bin directory.

b. Run the following command:

tomcat5w.exe //ES//VerityK2WebServer

The Verity K2 Administration Web Server Properties dialog box displays.

c. Select the Java tab.

d. In Java Options, select and edit the -Xmx1g option to change the heap size. For example, change the option to -Xmx2g to configure the maximum heap size to 2 GB.

e. Click OK.

For UNIX, the default -Xmx setting is 1 GB. To edit this value, modify the following files and lines:

Edit the <installDir>/k2/$PLATFORM/bin/k2adminstart file. The -Xmx setting is in the JAVA_OPTS line.

Edit the <installDir>/appserver/bin/setenv.sh file. The -Xmx setting is in the iJAVA_OPTS line.

If you change the settings, restart the Verity web server.
