This parameter is deprecated in HPE Media Server 11.4.0 and later.

The ImageBinarizeMethod parameter is still available for existing implementations, but it might be incompatible with new functionality. The parameter might be removed in future.

The method to use to binarize color images and documents. This parameter is ignored unless you ingest media using the image ingest engine and you set OcrMode to document.

The image binarization process converts a full color or greyscale image to black and white. You can use the following values:

The Global option applies a single threshold to the entire image, and is better for images with a more uniform appearance.

The Local and Enhanced options apply different binarization thresholds to different parts of the image. This produces better results for images with different backgrounds or color schemes in different parts of the image, including black and white images with shaded gray regions.

The Enhanced option performs additional processing to increase the contrast between potential text and background. This can improve accuracy but sometimes increases noise. HPE recommends using this option to process scanned images of historical documents.
