Set up an Index Task
Use the following procedure to set up an Index task.
To set up an Index task
1.
Open the IDOL server configuration file in a text editor.
2.
[MyIndexTask]
3.
Set Module to Index, to identify the task as an ACI task.
Module=Index
4.
Set the Host parameter to the IP address (or host name) of the IDOL server that you want to send the index action to. Set Port to the ACI port of this IDOL server.
To specify more than one IDOL server, separate the hosts and ports with commas (there must be no space before or after a comma). For example:
Host=123.4.5.67,127.0.0.1
Port=9000,9000

NOTE The Port is always the ACI port, and not the index port. Index Tasks requests the server index port using the ACI port, so that it automatically routes documents to the correct index port.
5.
Specify any other parameters that you want to apply to your Index task. For details on available parameters, see the online help. For example:
RequireCompleteIndexing=true
Failover=true
6.
Save the IDOL server configuration file and restart IDOL server for your configuration changes to take effect.

Example
In the following example, an Index task indexes documents into an IDOL server. This is what the configuration file section looks like:
[MyIndexTask]
Module=Index
Host=123.4.5.67
Port=9000
Every time IDOL server performs this task on an incoming document, it sends the document to the IP address and ACI port defined by the Host and Port parameters, where they are indexed.
