Set up a FileWriter Task
Use the following procedure to set up a FileWriter task.
To set up a FileWriter task
1.
Open the IDOL server configuration file in a text editor.

[MyFileWriterTask]
3.
Set Module to FileWriter, to identify the task as a FileWriter task.
Module=FileWriter
4.
OutputDirectory=C:\Autonomy\IDXFiles
5.
If your documents contain fields that specify the directory where to write the files, specify the names of these fields. For example:
TargetPathFieldsCSVs=PathField,FilePath
6.
Specify any other parameters that you want to apply to your FileWriter task. For details on available parameters, see the online help. For example:
BatchSize=10
7.
Save the IDOL server configuration file and restart IDOL server for your configuration changes to take effect.

Example
In the following example, a FileWriter task automatically writes files to disk. It uses the following configuration:
[MyFileWriterTask]
Module=FileWriter
OutputDirectory=C:\Autonomy\IDXFiles
BatchSize=10
Every time IDOL server performs this task on an incoming document, it writes the files to the directory C:\Autonomy\IDXFiles. There are 10 documents in each file.
