Set up a Cat Task
Use the following procedure to set up a categorization task.
To set up a Cat task
1.
Open the IDOL server configuration file in a text editor.
2.
[MyCatTask]
3.
Module=Cat
4.
Set the Host parameter to the IP address (or host name)of the IDOL server to use to categorize documents. Set Port to the ACI port of this IDOL server. For example:
Host=123.4.5.67
Port=9000

NOTE The Port is always the ACI port, and not the index port.
5.
Specify the fields that contain the data you want IDOL server to categorize. If you specify multiple fields, you must separate them with commas (there must be no space before or after a comma). For example:
TextFields=DRECONTENT
6.
Specify the names of document fields in which want to IDOL server to store returned category field values. If you want to specify multiple fields, you must separate them with commas (there must be no space before or after a comma). For example:
TagField=CategoryTag
7.
Specify any other parameters that you want to apply to your Cat task. For details on available parameters, see the online help. For example:
StemAndUnstem=true
Limit=10
8.
Save the IDOL server configuration file and restart IDOL server for your configuration changes to take effect.

Example
In the following example, a Cat task automatically categorizes incoming documents before IDOL server indexes them. It uses the following configuration:
[MyCatTask]
Module=Cat
TextFields=DRECONTENT
TagField=CategoryTag
NextTask=MyIndexTask
Host=127.0.0.1
Port=9000
Every time IDOL server performs this task on an incoming document, it sends a CategorySuggestFromText action to the IDOL server specified by the IP address and ACI port in the Host and Port parameters. The text used in this action is the contents of the DRECONTENT field.
action=CategorySuggestFromText&QueryText=”DRECONTENT_field_value”
IDOL server then extracts the categories from the autn:title field in the results (this field is set by default, and does not normally need to be changed). For each category returned, IDOL server creates a CategoryTag field, containing the category details.
