Set up Pre-index Tasks
Use this procedure to set up tasks to process data before indexing. For more details about setting up individual tasks, see the relevant sections in the rest of this chapter.
To set up pre-indexing tasks
1.
Open the IDOL server configuration file in a text editor.
2.
In the [IndexTasks] section, set StartTask to the name of the first task that you want IDOL server to execute on incoming data.
3.
Create a section for the specified StartTask and for any other task that you want IDOL server to execute before indexing.
*
Give each task section a name of your choice. You specify the type of task that the section contains using the Module parameter.
*
*
Set NextTask to the name of the task that IDOL server executes next, after it completes a task. Set OnFailureTask to the name of the task that IDOL server executes next if the task fails.
*
You can set up a Route task that allows you to direct data to appropriate processes depending on fields that the data contains.
*
Set up an Index task if you want to index data into the IDOL server data index after processing.
*
If you know that a document reference already exists in IDOL server, use the Add2Replace module to replace documents instead of adding them.
4.
5.
Restart IDOL server to activate your changes.
