Introduction to Actions

Actions allow you to query an ACI server and instruct it to perform a variety of operations.

NOTE:

While most actions can be sent by QueryClients, some are available only to AdminClients. All actions must be sent to the server's Port.

The general syntax of these actions is:

http://host:port/action=action&requiredParams&optionalParams

where,

host is the IP address or name of the machine on which the ACI server is installed.
port is the ACI port by which actions are sent to the ACI server (set by the Port parameter in the [Server] section of the configuration file).
action is the name of the action you want to run.
requiredParams are the parameters you must supply for the action you are requesting. (Not all actions have required parameters.)
optionalParams are parameters you can supply for the action you are requesting. (Not all actions have optional parameters.)

Separate the individual parameters with an ampersand (&). Separate parameter names from values with an equals sign (=). You must percent-encode all parameter values.
