DREBACKUP/HostDetails
Type

Boolean

Default

False

Description

Specifies that the backup should use a directory based on a specific host/port combination.

When set to true, the backup will be written to a sub-directory within the specified directory path. This directory will be named using the host and port of the specified IDOL server. In this way, a series of engines under a Distributed Index Handler (DIH) can all accept the same directory as input without intefering with each other's backups.

For example:

If sending a DREBACKUP command to a DIH on the localhost using index port 12611, you would use the following command:

http://localhost:12611/DREBACKUP?X:\backup\&HostDetails=true

This DIH then distributes the following command to each of its N child servers:

http://enginehostN:engineIndexportN/DREBACKUP?X:\backup\&HostDetails=true

Where enginehostN is the hostname for child engine N, and engineIndexportN is its Index port. The child servers will then write the backup to the following directory:

X:\backup\enginehostN-engineACIPORTN

Where, again, enginehostN is the hostname for child engine N, and where engineACIPORTN is its ACI port. In this way, even if X:\backup is a location shared between all of the child engines, they will each write a separate location, as they will each have a different host/port combination.

Example

HostDetails=true
