Introduction to Index Actions

Index actions allow you to index content into DIH, and to administer the Data index.

Note: Index actions are case sensitive and can only be issued by IndexClients. All index actions must be sent to the DIH DIHPort.

The following index actions are available:

DREADD Indexes content that is located on the same machine as the Distributed Index Handler.
DREADDDATA Indexes content that is not located on the same machine as the Distributed Index Handler.
DREBACKUP Backs up the Distributed Index Handler data index.
DRECHANGEMETA Changes document metadata fields.
DRECOMPACT Compacts the Distributed Index Handler data index.
DRECREATEDBASE Creates a Distributed Index Handler database.
DREDELDBASE Deletes all documents from a Distributed Index Handler database.
DREDELETEDOC Deletes documents by ID.
DREDELETEREF Deletes documents by reference.
DREDUPLICATE Removes or tags duplicates in the Distributed Index Handler data index.
DREEXPIRE Expires documents from Distributed Index Handler.
DREEXPORTIDX Exports IDX files from Distributed Index Handler.
DREEXPORTREMOTE Exports XML files from one Distributed Index Handler and indexes them into another.
DREEXPORTXML Exports XML files from Distributed Index Handler.
DREFLUSHANDPAUSE Prepares Distributed Index Handler for a snapshot (hot backup).
DREINITIAL Resets the Distributed Index Handler data index.
DREREGENERATE Fixes parent-child relationships for data that was indexed out of order.
DREREMOVEDBASE Deletes an Distributed Index Handler database.
DRERENAMEDBASE Renames a Distributed Index Handler database.
DREREPLACE Changes document field values or deletes fields.
DRERESET Forces Distributed Index Handler to read the configuration file.
DRERESIZEINDEXCACHE Dynamically resizes the index cache.
DRESPELLCHECKCACHE Controls the spell check correction cache.
DRESYNC Flushes the index cache to disk.
DRETAGDOCCLUSTERS Allows you to tag documents that are conceptually similar.
DREUNDELETEDOC Restores deleted documents.
