FieldPositionGap

A separation to apply between adjacent fields to avoid interpreting them as one field. This option prevents HPE Content Component from interpreting adjacent XML fields of the same name as one field, by inserting the specified number of positions between adjacent XML fields.

This option controls matching in queries. For example, if you set FieldPositionGap to 0, a query for the phrase "Henry James" returns documents that contain Henry James in one field, and also documents that contain Henry and James in adjacent fields. If you set FieldPositionGap to 10, HPE Content Component inserts 10 positions between individual XML fields, and only documents with a single field that contains both Henry and James return.
