Languages whose script is written from right to left (such as Arabic and Hebrew) are implemented in one of the following ways:

  • data is stored left to right but displayed by the application (for example, a browser) in right to left form.
  • data is stored right to left.

ReverseTextDirection allows you to reverse content data that is stored left to right, so that it is stored in right to left form.

You must ensure that the data has been written from right to left (for example, by using the View Source option when you display the data in a browser). If you set ReverseTextDirection for data that has been written from left to right and is only displayed as from right to left (for example, in a browser), it will be imported in reverse and become unreadable.

In this example, the text direction of the DRECONTENT field is reversed.
